Discover NZ

Discover NZ have been operating in New Zealand since 2003.

They offer quality modern campervans and motorhomes in Auckland and Christchurch.

You can learn more about the Discover NZ fleet in New Zealand by selecting from the vehicles listed below.

DriveNow expert's take

Discover NZ Motorhome Rentals is privately owned and run in New Zealand, with a fleet built around quality campervans and a real focus on customer service.

Every vehicle carries Green Sticker accreditation, and Discover NZ doesn't charge extra driver fees. That makes them a strong pick for couples or groups who want to split the driving without paying extra for the privilege.

You can pick up or drop off at Picton, Nelson, Dunedin, Blenheim and Greymouth, not just the main hubs. Handy if your route doesn't start or end in Auckland or Christchurch — just check whether a fee applies for these locations before you book.

At pickup, staff run you through the vehicle properly — every appliance, every bit of equipment. It's thorough, so don't rush it. Allow extra time, especially if it's your first campervan trip and you've got questions.

If something goes wrong on the road, Discover NZ has a 24-hour NZ freephone number you can call any time.

Discover NZ suits travellers after a modern, premium van with updated interior fittings — this isn't a budget, bare-bones fleet.

For families, start with the 6 Berth Deluxe. It's got a full oven and a 3-way fridge, so you can properly self-cater on the road instead of relying on takeaways every night.

One thing worth planning around: if you're doing both islands, book your Interislander or Bluebridge ferry early in summer — they fill up fast. And confirm your van is cleared for ferry travel before you lock in your dates.
